The first of the Module One Test slow control exercises is the Slalom and Figure-of-Eight. It involves using your balance, plus good control of the clutch, rear brake and throttle. Adequate revs and a steady speed are essential to perform this manoeuvre. You should keep your focus as far ahead as possible, rather than looking down at the closest cone. The slalom is between the five yellow cones that move towards the centre of the test centre. The Figure-of-Eight is next without stopping between the two exercises, this takes place around the two blue cones. Before attempting these exercises it is advisable that you have taken some professional motorcycle training beforehand. Practicing the Slalom and Figure-of-Eight manoeuvres until you are proficient is essential prior to taking the Module One test.Steering wide in the Figure-of-Eight reduces the risk of putting your foot down. During this whole exercise, you should not use the front brake, this can cause unnecessary problems and stability issues.
