This is the second of the slow control manoeuvres. This Module One exercise should be carried out at walking pace to assess your balance, along with your control of the rear brake, throttle and clutch. This exercise simulates the skill required to ride safely in slow moving traffic and in other slow-control situations. It’s important to look ahead to keep balance and have good vision, keep the revs above tick over and slip the clutch as required. You should cover and use the rear brake as required, to keep the speed at a walking pace. A light grip of the handlebars will keep you relaxed and able to steer the bike correctly if required. During the Module One slow control ride, the examiner will watch from a safe distance, you should keep your focus ahead and ignore them. Do not use the front brake as this may have a diving effect on the front end of the machine. Stop the bike at the beginning of the U-Turn exercise or where the examiner has instructed you to stop.
