Module 1 Test - Parking-Up Exercise

After the gates have been closed you will be asked to ride the bike around in an arc and park up facing the fence.

There are two sets of green cones and you will be asked to park in one of the parking bays between the 4 cones.

You are advised to think about only one manoeuvre at a time, remain calm and do not rush any exercise.

The examiner will take notice of what you are doing, as any faults will be recorded during the marking process.

You Can Still Fail!

Although parking up is not a test criteria heading it is still possible to fail.

By not rushing, parking up correctly can help to settle your nerves.

It also allows you a little bit of extra time to view the test centre, the position of the cones and to assess the test centre surface.

How to Park Up in the Parking Area

  • Select 1st gear
  • Carry out rear observations
  • Look and ride forward
  • Ride in a large arc
  • Ensure you have a straight entry into parking bay
  • Stop the bike and select neutral
  • Switch off engine
  • Put the bike on to its stand
  • Dismount and await further instructions
