Cultural Immersion and Culinary Delights

Stay in a private 17th-century Château, enjoy locally-sourced meals, and immerse yourself in the local culture. Experience the social aspects of riding, where each meal and stay contributes to the group’s camaraderie and experience.

A Typical Day on the Tour

  • Morning: Begin with a session focused on specific techniques like IPSGA, cornering, overtaking, and counter-steering, followed by a hearty French breakfast.
  • Daytime Riding: Split into groups based on skill level for targeted instruction, applying new techniques across Normandy’s diverse terrains.
  • Lunch: Savour local cuisine with fellow riders at picturesque stops, perfect for socialising and enjoying regional specialties.
  • Afternoon Session: Regroup and apply morning lessons on a return ride to the Chateau, stopping to purchase local treats like oysters and champagne.
  • Evening: Wind down with a debrief and cold beer on the lawn, enjoy a fantastic casual dinner, and relax in the Chateau’s lounge, reflecting on the day’s achievements.

Training Objectives

  • Mastering IPSGA: This is the start of change that must be understood fully and utilised in every riding situation. It is a structured planned approach to riding and has all the key elements to significant change.
  • Cornering techniques: Riders always say they want twisty roads and curves rather than straight motorways. But the truth is, most are a little bit scared or apprehensive of cornering, bends mean slower speed and an uneasy feeling. But with dedicated guidance, they can be converted into great fun.
  • Overtaking challenges: Learn how to overtake properly, use the power of the brain to create the opportunity to overtake and not the power of the motorcycle’s engine! Once this lesson is delivered, it’s like putting the lightbulb on in a dark room. It’s a transformational lesson for every rider.

Join Our Community

This tour is about more than improving your riding. It’s about joining a community of passionate riders who seek adventure, growth, and the joy of riding with confidence. You’ll leave not only with enhanced skills but also with memories and friendships that last a lifetime. Some of our past riders have flown the nest and now travel around the world on their own tours. This is the perfect ending for us, as we watch riders develop and gain enough confidence to go it alone.

FAQ's

The tour is designed for all riders. New riders must have passed a motorcycle test and be comfortable riding their bikes. Inexperienced riders should have at least 4 months riding experience so that they benefit from the training provided (if you are unsure, please get in touch). Intermediate and experienced riders thrive with our high-level training programmes. They elevate your ability and skill levels above normal advanced training standards, typically given by charity organisations. Having a mix of riding ability is okay, as we break the riders into smaller groups. Those who have more riding experience will not be held up and those who are new to riding abroad will have the best time ever with their own group of similar riders. With over 15 years experience, we have perfected the advanced training tour to something unique that is not offered anywhere else in the world (to our knowledge)!

Costs include all training sessions, accommodations at the Château, breakfast and dinner, ferry tickets, and support throughout the tour. If you are up to standard by the end of the trip you will be issued with a DVSA Enhanced Rider Scheme (ERS) certificate.

Riders should have their own motorcycle, appropriate gear for all weather conditions, personal items, and a sense of adventure! You’ll also need money for fuel each day and for lunchtime meals. If you want lobster, you’ll need some extra funds.

Training continues rain or shine! We adjust our routes and training techniques to ensure safety and comfort for all riders regardless of weather. Our training trips are arranged to get the best of the weather, however if riding in the rain is not for you - have achilles out day in the Chateau.

Safety is paramount. All routes are pre-checked, instructors are first-aid trained, and emergency protocols are in place to handle any situation. Riders are not taken out of their ability zone and if poor riding is spotted, we use it as an education opportunity. If you are unfortunate enough to break down, one of our team will stay with you and make sure you are not stranded.

Groups are kept small, typically only 12 riders per training tour. This means instructors have no more than 4 riders each, this is to ensure personalised guidance and coaching.

Because trips are run as a club there is a £500 non-refundable deposit, this is because payments are made prior to trips commencing. However, because we have a waiting list, refunds may be made if places are refilled.

Yes! While structured training is standard practice, you can have a day off as downtime for personal exploration or relaxation. This means you miss a day’s guidance and education but it is your trip and you can do as you please.

We recommend that you are comfortable with long rides and that you are confident at riding. Although this tour caters for new riders, you must be happy riding at road speeds and very comfortable riding your bike. We send out a full itinerary once you have made full payment, this gives you adequate time to prepare your luggage and bike for the trip.
