Although riding in an eco-friendly way does not form part of the Module Two motorcycle test, the examiner is required to assess that you are riding in an eco-friendly manner.
At the end of the test, the examiner may offer some advice on ways to improve your eco-friendly riding skills.
This section would not cause you to fail a motorcycle test but there is a section on the marking sheet to highlight this topic.
You should use the motorcycle controls properly which involves correct use of gears, avoiding aggressive braking and over reacting.
Over revving the engine, particularly when stationary or pulling away are typical examples of poor eco-safe riding.
If stopped for any length of time e.g. at level crossings or roadworks, in order to improve fuel consumption and avoid unnecessary pollution, you should consider turning your engine off.
