That is because when turning left into a side road you will not need to give way to any traffic that has priority.
Hazards are always present and it is important to use the OSMPSL routine, reduce speed in plenty of time to ensure you are in the correct road position and to look early into the junction to look for hazards.
Be aware of road surface hazards such as drain covers, wet leaves, loose gravel and parked vehicles.
You should still be aware of what is behind you by maintaining good rearward observations, being vigilant for overtaking vehicles, as other vehicles may be impatient and try to pass you.
