After the examiners test briefing and safety questions, you will be asked to sit on your motorcycle and prepare to leave the test centre.
This is your cue to carry out your own effective pre-ride checks, the examiner will get on their motorcycle and do a radio check.
THE EXAMINER SOMETIMES USES A CAR
In some circumstances the examiner will follow in a car, this is rare but you should not be alarmed if this happens.
As taught by your motorcycle instructor, you should sit on your motorcycle and carry out your own pre-ride checks.
Be aware that the test has started and the examiner will be in assessment mode at the stage.
Too often, people don’t think clearly on tests and find themselves sat on the bike, gloves already on, but with the keys still in their pocket.
This can result in you being stressed and wondering what the examiner thinks of you before you have even got going!
One problem then leads to another. When you first sit on the bike, the side stand should immediately be stowed away as the motorcycle will cut out when first gear is selected.
You could have knocked it when getting off the bike when you first arrived.
You should also have a quick look in the mirrors and ensure they are still where they need to be. When you are ready the examiner will give a radio check and allow the volume to be adjusted if required.
With pre-ride checks complete the examiner will direct you to ride out of the test centre to commence the Module Two motorcycle test.
